Michael Tannenbaum

Michael Tannenbaum is the Operating Officer of Brex. He was a founding employee at the Company and was the company’s Chief Financial Officer and Chief Business Officer from 2017 – 2021. Today he is responsible for keeping the company accountable to financial, product and operational goals and oversees Operations, Customer Support, Risk, Financial Partnerships, Investor and Public Relations, Compliance, Finance and Legal. Tannenbaum joined Brex from online lender SoFi where he was promoted six times in three years, ultimately to Chief Revenue Officer. During his time at SoFi, Tannenbaum was VP of Finance where he negotiated Softbank’s record-breaking $1 billion Series E investment and also ran the mortgage business. Tannenbaum began his career in the investment banking division of J.P. Morgan, worked at private equity firm Hellman & Friedman and graduated summa cum laude from Columbia University.
